Gardner Attacks Government Over Luton Airport Expansion

“The consequences of the Government’s decision will be felt on our doorsteps and in our playgrounds and back gardens for decades to come. I grew up under a Luton flightpath, with my parents complaining about the noise. In those days there was a fraction of the air traffic. I simply dread to think of all the extra noise, pollution, and added traffic on the Lower Luton Road and our other local thoroughfares.”

Harpenden Town Council Sues St Albans Over New Parking Charges

Conservative candidate for Harpenden, Nigel Gardner, put the parking charges at the heart of his campaign: “Hats off to our Harpenden Town Councillors. St Albans Council in Hole Over Golf Course Plan

Nigel Gardner, Harpenden’s Conservative candidate in the General Election, has called on St Albans Council to come clean over the growing scandal at Batchwood’s 9th hole: “The Council is in a financial hole but still found £100k for a golf hole, which has turned into a PR hole, which is getting deeper because they lack the wisdom to know that when in a hole, stop digging.” He added, “This from the same people who are driving Harpenden’s hard-working high street traders towards rack and ruin.”

Council Considers Options After Parking Charges Approved

2024 Tory Parliamentary candidate for Harpenden, Nigel Gardner, whose campaign was fought on opposing the charges, added: “I am furious. For the past year, Harpenden residents, Harpenden businesses and Harpenden lovers across the political spectrum have made it abundantly clear that they don’t want these parking charges.”

Gardner, who was the European Commission’s spokesman on relations with the US during the Clinton administration, as well as Conservative Party candidate for Harpenden and Berkhamsted, told local media: “Politics for me is about creating hope not fear. Donald Trump’s re-election is clearly creating new hope for millions of Americans – like the car workers who now see a future for their industry. But he is also creating fear amongst some of the weakest people in America – like the children of illegal immigrants who may lose their right to American citizenship.”

“It’s a sad day – and not just for Harpenden’s hard working high street traders and our local economy,” said Nigel Gardner.
