Lib Dem Council Threat to Local Green Belt

Lib Dem run St Albans District Council is planning to build thousands of new houses on the green belt around Harpenden.

Local candidate to be Harpenden’s new MP Nigel Gardner said: ‘The whole story of building on the green belt is not just happening now. This has been going on my entire lifetime from when I was here going to school. We have to save what is left.’

“We need cross-party support to protect our green belt”, said Nigel Gardner.

The Lib Dem West Redbourn sch-eme alone will mean 600 new houses. ‘They’re just filling in all the countryside around Redbourn to the M1,’ Gardner said. ‘There’s already been so much building in Redbourn since I grew up.’
